Business Analyst

Position Summary

The role of the Business Analyst is to gather requirements for medium to large sized web-based application development projects, then manage associated projects to a successful conclusion. Responsibilities will include working with client stakeholders to gather product and technical requirements and coordinating internal team efforts to ensure delivery of high quality business requirements.

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Lead the requirements development for applying technology to satisfy business needs
  • Responsible for developing new solution strategies to the technical and implementation teams
  • Develop, document and maintain complex business models and interact with all departments
  • Arrange, lead meetings and document decisions for project at hand
  • Solution and understand project and business requirements
  • Conduct business process analysis utilizing an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment, in support of strategic initiatives
  • Define and document internal and external user interfaces and support system and data requirements clarification and definitions
  • Collect and analyze project business requirements and transfer the same knowledge to the development team
  • Effectively communicate relevant information to team members
  • Assist in enforcement of project deadlines, schedules and methodologies
  • Perform other job related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to clearly articulate complex business requirements in a variety of formats
  • Experience working directly with clients, including managers and subject matter experts, as well as internal teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear, concise manner across functional and technical departments
  • Aptitude for strategic thinking and ability to make critical recommendations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Office and Visio
  • Some knowledge of the development of web based applications
  • Ability to work under pressure, self-manage, and prioritize tasks to ensure efficiencies

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of BA/PM experience preferred
