Manager, Software Quality Assurance

Position Summary

The Manager, Quality will help us oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and/or development processes.

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Address staff training and development needs in QA department
  • Communicate quality standards and parameters to QA team, product development team, and other appropriate staff
  • Coordinate product testing processes
  • Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery
  • Identify and analyze issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products
  • Oversee daily workflow and schedules of the QA department
  • Participate in product testing and use JIRA to report or track defects found during testing
  • Perform reviews of client, customer, and user feedback
  • Recommend and facilitate solutions to issues related to Quality Assurance
  • Review results of major and final tests to determine if product specifications are met in line with requirements and standards
  • Set appropriate quality standards and parameters for products throughout the organization

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field; a graduate degree is a plus
  • 5+ years experience managing Quality Assurance Teams
  • Comfortability with agile development methodologies with continuous integration
  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of information technology, and technical writing
  • Experience with manual and automation testing
  • Experience working closely with development and business teams to communicate problem impacts
  • Familiarity with validating high-quality consumer facing applications on embedded communications platforms
  • Possess creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness
  • Proven experience working on complex projects, across different business areas at all levels of the organization
