Manager of Technical Operations

The Manager of Technical Operations will use their experience and skills to lead and oversee the department. They will have a deep understanding of technical solutions, a proven track record of managing IT teams, and the ability to align technology strategies with business goals. They will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of technology systems while providing excellent support to employees.
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead and manage the Technical Operations team while developing and executing a comprehensive technical strategy aligned with the company’s objectives. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance, upgrades, and optimization of the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software while ensuring the security of company data and systems with the guidance of the cybersecurity team. Perform regular system and access audits.
- Team Management: Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members. Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor performance to ensure the team’s productivity and growth.
- User Support: Ensure that the Technical Operations team is providing timely and effective technical support to all employees, addressing hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and guidelines for IT-related processes and troubleshooting.
- Initiative Management: Lead technology-related projects, from planning and resource allocation to implementation and monitoring. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, meeting established objectives.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external technology vendors to source, implement, and maintain necessary tools and services. Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in managing technology operations and teams, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Information & Document Lifecycle processes, IT systems, infrastructure, security protocols, and emerging technologies.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Security+, Network+, Microsoft) are a plus.
- Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience in security initiatives that impact applications, infrastructure, and external threats.
- Experience designing and building Disaster Recovery/High Availability solutions for business continuity.
